I really want to climb tomorrow,

But I’d only get 5 hours of sleep and I’m pretty sure my body’s dying…

I find it infinitely fascinating,

the inner monologues of the world’s best climbers. The more interviews I hear and read, the more my own views about climbing are reaffirmed—that climbing, and activities similar to it, bring heightened states of consciousness. Almost psychedelic, climbing alters human perception, sharpening it, making it attune to our natural environments in a way that few other things can. For me, climbing represents the pinnacle of what a man can achieve, the rawest, most condensed way that we can connect with ourselves and our small corner of the universe.
